Hiking
At Le Clos Domange maps and information on hiking trails are waiting for you. From the church of Igé to the chapel of Domange there are a lot of ‘randonnées’. These are loop shaped trails with often dazzling views. In our village a lot of bustling volunteers maintain all the sign of the trails. Annually there is a ‘Balade gourmande’ in June; this is a combination of strolling and savouring regional wines and goodies.
Nearby, in the Mâcon-Cluny region there are several green hiking trails, outlined by the local tourist offices. Also starting in several town in the surroundings ‘Les Balades Vertes’ are really worthwhile.

On our information shelf you can find guides and booklets on different bike trails. If you bring along your bicycles yourself, you will be able to store them safely and drily in our shed. If not , we can refer you to a good bicycle rental company in the neighbourhood.

Swimming and water fun
With a bit of luck we have our swimming pool clean and cool again by summer. In the surroundings you have several lakes where you can or cannot swim. We will explain which are the suited for you. The water park of Mâcon has an in- and outdoors swimming pool with numerous attractions.
Near Mâcon, in Saint-Laurent-sur-Saône you can cycle with a pedal boat along the Saône.
‘Le Lac’ in Crèche-sur-Saône provides everything necessary to water-ski and to wakeboard.

Adventurous parks for daredevils
For children who like rope climbing tracks, acrobatics and adventure in the woods, we have the park Lugny Acro and Acro’Bath in Bergesserin. Both parks are a 20 minute drive.
For addicts of real amusement parks and other lions there is the Parc Touristique des Combes at about 70 km from here.
Just a bit further you can find the super dashing recreation park ‘Diverti’Parc’

Admiring or riding animals
When you like trekking with a pony or a horse, Igé is definitely a good choice for you. There are probably 29 pony-or horse riding schools.
Our favourite: our neighbour Sandrine invites you willing to her ponyranch in Chevagny-Les-Chevrières.. Cluny is undoubtedly the centre of horse training and equestrian sports. You can visist the historical ‘Haras National’ and on regular basis there are horse fairs, exhibations of horse training, musical and theatrical performances with horses and lots of other activities.
Donkey trekking is absolutely a rare thing to do. Don’t go too far for this treat, in Vergisson they are ready for you to depart and to wander about freely. In the surroundings there are also several animal parks to visit. This is a lovely enterprise for the whole family. One of the biggest is ‘Touroparc’ in Romanèche-Thorins about a half an hour drive. Next to the animal park there is a museum and a waterfun park in Touroparc.

Caves and archeology
Very near at a 15 minute drive there are the Caves of Azé. This presents you with a fascinating excursion through the caves and the remains of thousands of cave bears that lived in there. But also homo erectus left traces there.
In La Roche-de-Solutré there is the ‘Grand Site de Sollutré Pouilli Vergisson’ with a prehistorical museum and botanic-archeological park.

At ‘Château de La Greffière’ there is a small but delicate museum about wine production to visit. It is only a 10 minute drive.
Another ideal location to discover everything about the culture of French wine with your family in a playful but enterprising way is at Le Hameau Duboeuf in Romanèche-Thorins, a half an hour drive.
